In the rugged terrains of Venezuela, infrastructure development relies heavily on the efficient processing of local materials. However, natural river stone and pebbles present a significant challenge: they are notoriously hard, abrasive, and difficult to crush into high-quality aggregates. Baichy Machinery recently engineered and delivered a customized Portable Wheel-Mounted Crushing Plant specifically designed to tackle these materials, providing a turnkey solution for a client requiring high mobility and precision output.

The Challenge: Processing Abrasive Venezuelan River Pebbles

The project required a system capable of handling river stones up to 12 inches (300mm) and reducing them to a precise ¾ inch (19mm) finished aggregate. Beyond simple crushing, the plant needed to recover natural sand and operate in a closed-circuit to ensure 100% specification compliance.

Technical Configuration: The Baichy "Hard Rock" Powerhouse

To meet the 15–35 tonnes per hour (TPH) requirement, Baichy configured a dual-module portable station:

  ● Primary Crushing Stage: A heavy-duty PE400×600 Jaw Crusher serves as the primary workhorse, capable of taking large 300mm boulders and breaking them down with ease.
  ● Secondary Crushing Stage: Recognizing the abrasiveness of river pebbles, we integrated a High-Efficiency Secondary Cone Crusher. Unlike impact crushers, the cone crusher utilizes compression, significantly reducing wear costs when processing hard silica-rich stones.
  ● Integrated Screening & Recovery: A multi-deck vibrating screen separates the natural sand, the finished 19mm aggregate, and oversized material.
  ● Closed-Circuit Design: Any material exceeding 19mm is automatically returned to the cone crusher via conveyors, ensuring zero waste and perfect product sizing.

Key Advantages of the Baichy Portable Plant

  ● Extreme Mobility: The entire plant is wheel-mounted, allowing for rapid relocation by truck or tractor between different riverbanks or construction sites.
  ● Backhoe-Loader Friendly: The feed hopper is engineered with a low-profile entry, allowing a standard backhoe loader to feed the vibrating grizzly feeder directly.
  ● Safety First: The system includes complete safety guards and an emergency-stop network, meeting international safety standards for mining operations.
  ● Optional Dust Suppression: To meet environmental regulations and improve site visibility, a water-spray system is included to minimize airborne particulates.

Customer Feedback: Success in the Field

The Venezuelan client reported high satisfaction following the initial commissioning. Key highlights from their feedback include:

"The setup time was remarkably fast. Being able to move the entire plant between river sites without needing a massive logistics team has saved us significant operational costs. The combination of the PE400x600 jaw and the cone crusher handles our hardest pebbles without the frequent maintenance we saw with previous equipment. Most importantly, the 19mm aggregate quality is perfect for our concrete mixing requirements." — Project Manager, Venezuela Infrastructure Group.

FAQ: Aggregate Processing in Venezuela

1. What is the best crusher for river stone in Venezuela?

For hard and abrasive river pebbles, a combination of a Jaw Crusher for primary reduction and a Cone Crusher for secondary reduction is recommended. This setup minimizes wear on parts compared to impact crushers.

2. Can a portable crushing plant produce sand and aggregate simultaneously?

Yes. By using a multi-deck vibrating screen and a specialized recovery system, a single portable plant can separate natural sand, fine fractions, and specific aggregate sizes like 19mm (3/4 inch).

3. What is the production capacity of a PE400x600 portable plant?

When processing river stone, a PE400x600 jaw crusher integrated into a complete plant typically produces between 15 and 35 tonnes per hour, depending on the material density and final size requirements.
