About Sand Dryer

Sand dryers, also known as three-cylinder drum dryers or three-pass drum dryers, are developed based on single-drum dryers. Detailed Sand Drying Process

1. Sand is delivered to the hopper by a belt conveyor or bucket elevator. Sand is then fed into the hopper through a feeder and a feed pipe. The feed pipe's slope should be greater than the material's natural inclination to ensure smooth material flow into the sand dryer (yellow sand dryer).

 

2. The dryer cylinder is a rotating cylinder slightly inclined relative to the horizontal. Material is fed from the higher end, while the heat carrier enters from the lower end, interacting with the material in countercurrent flow. Sometimes, the heat carrier and material flow together into the cylinder.

 

3. As the cylinder rotates, the material flows to the lower end under gravity. As the wet material moves forward within the cylinder, it receives heat directly or indirectly from the heat carrier, drying it. The wet material is then discharged from the discharge end via a belt conveyor or screw conveyor.

 

4. A lifting plate is installed on the inner wall of the sand dryer cylinder. It scoops up and drops the material, increasing its contact surface with the airflow, thereby increasing the drying rate and promoting material movement.

 

5. Heat carriers are generally classified as hot air or flue gas. After the heat carrier passes through the dryer, a cyclone dust collector is generally required to capture any entrained material.

 

6. To further reduce the dust content of the exhaust gas, it should also pass through a bag filter or wet dust collector before discharge.
