Project Overview: Micro Powder Grinding Mill HGM100 in Kenya

Kenya is rapidly industrializing its construction and agricultural sectors, creating a soaring demand for high-fineness gypsum powder. A recent client in Nairobi sought to upgrade their processing capacity from a traditional Raymond mill to a more efficient, finer, and reliable system.

During the initial research phase, the client faced a critical dilemma: traditional Raymond mills were incapable of meeting ultra-fine grinding requirements exceeding 800 mesh, whereas standard ball mills suffered from excessive energy consumption and a massive footprint. Furthermore, given the relatively unstable industrial voltage conditions prevalent in Kenya, the client urgently required a modern production solution that offered optimal energy efficiency, a high degree of automation, and dust emission levels that fully complied with regulatory standards. After evaluating several suppliers, the customer selected Baichy Machinery based on equipment performance, technical support, and project experience.

   ● Project Location: Kenya

   ● Material: Natural Gypsum Ore

   ● Feed Size: ≤20 mm

   ● Finished Product Fineness: 325-1250 mesh (45-10 μm)

   ● Capacity: 1-3 TPH

   ● Main Equipment Model: HGM100 Micro Powder Grinding Mill

   ● Application: Construction gypsum powder, gypsum board production, plaster materials, industrial fillers

Production Line Workflow (Step by Step)

 1. Crushing Stage. Raw gypsum stones are fed into the hammer crusher. The material is crushed to a size suitable for grinding, typically below 20 mm.

2. Material Feeding. The crushed gypsum is transported by bucket elevator into the storage hopper and then fed uniformly into the HGM100 grinding mill through the weighing belt conveyor. This conveyor is used for precise feeding.

3. Grinding Stage. Inside the HGM100 mill, grinding rollers and rings repeatedly crush and grind the gypsum material into fine powder. The airflow system transports the powder to the classifier.

4. Classification Stage. The classifier separates qualified powder from coarse particles. Fine powder meeting the required specification enters the dust collection system, while oversized particles return to the grinding chamber.

5. Powder Collection. The finished gypsum powder is collected through a pulse dust collection system with high collection efficiency.

Why Choose HGM100 for Gypsum Grinding?

1. High Fineness Output. The HGM100 can produce gypsum powder ranging from 325 mesh to 1250 mesh, meeting the requirements of various industries.

2. Stable Production Performance. Advanced grinding technology ensures continuous operation and consistent product quality.

3. Energy-Saving Design. Compared with traditional grinding equipment, the HGM100 achieves higher grinding efficiency with lower power consumption.

4. Environmental Protection. The sealed grinding system and pulse dust collector significantly reduce dust emissions and improve workplace conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Find answers to the most common questions about Baichy Machinery. If you can’t find what you’re looking for here, please contact us.

1. Can the HGM mill grind other materials besides gypsum?

Yes. The HGM100 is a multi-purpose micro powder mill. In Kenya, it’s also used for limestone, calcite, marble, talc, barite, and dolomite. Simply adjust the classifier speed and air volume.

2. What is the replacement cycle for wear parts

Since gypsum is a material of medium-to-low hardness (Mohs hardness 2), the high-chromium alloy wear parts utilized in the HGM100 boast an exceptionally long service life. Under normal operating conditions, the service life of a single set of grinding rings and rollers typically extends to 18–24 months.

3. Can the fineness of the finished product be adjusted?

Yes. The fineness of the finished product is controlled by adjusting the rotational speed of the classifier (via variable frequency control). Operators need to set the corresponding frequency to switch between fineness levels ranging from 325 mesh to 2500 mesh.

4. What power supply does the HGM100 require?

Total installed power is approx. 145kW (main unit 90kW). We provide a voltage transformer suitable for Kenya’s 415V/50Hz three-phase system. A soft starter protects against voltage fluctuations.
