150 tph Mobile Stone Crusher Plant for Basalt Processing in Honduras

Project Overview:

Honduras is experiencing rapid growth in infrastructure construction, creating strong demand for high-quality aggregates and sand. The client, a local construction company, aimed to establish a crushing operation to process abundant basalt resources into certified construction materials. The project required a flexible, efficient, and environmentally compliant solution capable of producing multiple specification-grade products.

The Challenge:

Basalt is extremely hard and abrasive, posing significant challenges for crushing equipment wear and operational costs. It needs to produce both aggregates and high-quality manufactured sand meeting strict standards. Restricted quarry area required a compact and highly mobile solution. Also it needs to control dust and water recycling for environmental compliance.

The Solution: A Four-in-One Mobile Plant with Integrated Sand Washing

To overcome these challenges, a sophisticated mobile solution was deployed. The core of the system was a four-in-one mobile crushing station, supplemented with a key additional unit for sand processing.

1. Integrated Vibrating Grizzly Feeder:

● Ensures a consistent and regulated feed to the crusher.
● The grizzly section removes natural fines from the raw basalt before primary crushing, increasing overall capacity.

2. Primary Crushing: Jaw Crusher (PE600×900)

● This heavy-duty PE600×900 jaw crusher is the workhorse for the initial size reduction. Its robust construction and deep crushing chamber are perfectly suited to handle the high compressive strength of basalt, reducing large boulders to a manageable size.

3. Secondary Crushing:  Cone Crusher (HPC300)

● The HPC300 multi-cylinder hydraulic cone crusher is the ideal choice for secondary crushing of abrasive materials. Its hydraulic system allows for precise adjustment and overload protection, ensuring a consistent, well-shaped cubical product essential for high-strength concrete and asphalt.

4. Screening: Mobile Vibrating Screen (3YK2160)

● A large YK seires 2160 vibrating screen (3-deck) provides high-capacity and precise screening. It efficiently separates the crushed material into multiple final product sizes, with oversized material being recirculated back to the cone crusher in a closed circuit.

5. Sand Processing: Fine Sand Dewatering and Recovery System

● This crucial add-on sand dewarting and recovery system unit takes the 0-5mm material from the screen and processes it to produce a premium manufactured sand.
It removes silt, clay, and other impurities, then dewaters the sand to a low moisture content of 10-15%, making it immediately usable and improving its quality for construction applications.

Key Benefits & Results:

1. Exceptional Mobility & Quick Setup: The entire plant can be transported and made operational within a day, allowing it to follow the progression of the road construction project seamlessly.

2. Optimized for Hard Rock: The combination of a robust jaw crusher and a hydraulic cone crusher is specifically engineered to handle the abrasiveness of basalt, maximizing wear life and reducing operating costs.

3. High-Quality End Products: The HPC300 cone crusher produces well-shaped aggregates, while the dewatering system creates a premium, in-spec sand, enhancing the quality and strength of the final construction.

4. Water Conservation & Environmental Compliance: The closed-loop sand washing system recycles up to 95% of the process water, minimizing consumption and environmental impact—a critical factor in remote locations.

5. All-in-One Convenience: Having feeding, crushing, screening, and sand washing in a compact, mobile format drastically reduces operational complexity and manpower requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Find answers to the most common questions about Baichy Machinery. If you can’t find what you’re looking for here, please contact us.

1. Why choose this specific equipment combination for basalt crushing?

Basalt's hardness and abrasiveness require robust primary crushing (jaw crusher) and precise secondary crushing (cone crusher). This combination ensures optimal particle shape while controlling wear costs.

2. Why choose a cone crusher over an impact crusher for basalt?

For hard and highly abrasive materials like basalt, a cone crusher like the HPC300 is superior. It uses compressive force rather than impact, resulting in lower wear costs per ton and producing a more consistent, cubical product shape that is ideal for high-spec applications.

3. Why is a mobile plant preferred for this project in Honduras?

On a mobile unit impact crushers are driven directly by a diesel-engine or indirectly driven by an electric motor or a hydraulic pump. It provides a large crushing chamber and a powerful rotor, capable of processing large sandstone blocks.

4. What is the purpose of the Fine Sand Dewatering System?

It reduces sand moisture content to 10-15%, making it ideal for concrete production. Proper dewatering also controls fine particle content, improving sand quality and marketability.
