Bottom Ash Grinding Mill Plant In Thailand

To improve the utilization of industrial by-products and produce value-added mineral powder, a customer in Thailand selected Baichy Machinery to build a 20 TPH Fly Ash Ball Mill Grinding Plant. The project is designed to process fly ash collected from thermal power plants into fine powder suitable for cement blending, concrete production, dry mortar, and other construction materials. The production line operates with stable performance, high efficiency, and low operating costs, helping the customer maximize the value of fly ash resources.

   ● Project Location: Thailand

   ● Material: Fly Ash

   ● Capacity: 20 TPH

   ● Finished Product Fineness: 325 mesh (45 μm)

   ● Main Grinding Equipment: Ball Mill 2200×8000 mm

   ● Application: Cement additives, concrete admixtures, dry mortar, building materials

   ● Operation Mode: Continuous production

The customer required a reliable grinding system capable of producing consistent fine fly ash powder while maintaining low energy consumption and easy maintenance. After evaluating multiple solutions, the customer selected Baichy's ball mill grinding technology for its proven performance and durability.

Main Equipment Configuration

1. Fly Ash Storage Silo. The raw fly ash is stored in a silo to ensure continuous and stable feeding into the grinding system.

2. Feeding System. A controlled feeding device delivers fly ash evenly to the ball mill, maintaining stable production conditions.

3. Ball Mill 2200x8000mm.  The ball mill serves as the core grinding equipment. Steel grinding media inside the rotating mill continuously impact and grind the fly ash particles into finer powder.

4. Air Classifier. The classifier separates qualified fine powder from coarse particles. Oversized particles are returned to the ball mill for further grinding, forming a closed-circuit grinding system.

4. Dust Collection System. A pulse jet dust collector captures fine particles and maintains a clean production environment.

5. Finished Product Silo. The qualified fly ash powder is stored before bulk transportation or bagging.

Key Benefits & Results Flyash Ball Mill Plant

1. High Grinding Efficiency. The closed-circuit ball mill system achieves stable fineness while maximizing throughput.

2. Consistent Product Quality. The classifier ensures uniform particle size distribution, meeting the requirements of cement and concrete applications.

3. Energy-Saving Operation. Optimized grinding parameters help reduce energy consumption per ton of finished product.

4. Reliable Performance. The ball mill is designed for continuous operation under demanding industrial conditions.

5. Low Maintenance Cost. Wear-resistant liners and grinding media contribute to longer service intervals and reduced operating costs.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Find answers to the most common questions about Baichy Machinery. If you can’t find what you’re looking for here, please contact us.

1. Can this ball mill plant process wet fly ash?

No. Fly ash moisture must be below 3% (ideally <1%) for efficient ball mill operation. If your raw fly ash has higher moisture (from pond ash or wet collection), we recommend installing a rotary dryer before the mill. Most Thai power plants supply dry fly ash (0.5-1% moisture) suitable for direct milling.

2. What fineness can a fly ash ball mill achieve?

Most fly ash ball mill systems can produce powder ranging from 200 to 400 mesh, depending on project requirements and classifier settings.

3. Can the ball mill operate continuously?

Yes. Industrial ball mills are designed for long-term continuous operation and can run 24 hours per day with proper maintenance.

4. Can the ball mill process materials other than fly ash?

Yes. Ball mills are widely used for grinding limestone, gypsum, cement clinker, slag, quartz, feldspar, and other mineral materials.
