Bottom Ash Grinding Mill Plant In Southeast Asia

Project Overview

Southeast Asia relies heavily on coal-fired power plants for energy, resulting in the massive generation of industrial waste, specifically Bottom Ash. While Fly Ash is easily collected and reused, Bottom Ash is coarser, heavier, and historically treated as landfill waste. The client saw an opportunity in the circular economy. They aimed to process this bottom ash into fine powder to serve as an active admixture for cement and concrete blocks. This reduces raw material costs and solves an environmental disposal issue. To achieve this, they required a grinding plant capable of processing large volumes of abrasive ash into a fine powder (100-325 mesh) to meet local construction standards.

The Challenge:

Bottom ash contains silica and hard slag, which causes rapid wear and tear on grinding rollers and rings. Unlike limestone, bottom ash density varies, requiring a mill with high grinding pressure. The client required a high throughput to keep up with the daily output of the power plant, demanding a large-scale industrial solution.

The Solution: Complete Raymond Mill YGM190 Plant

The raymond mill YGM190 is a high-pressure suspension grinding mill. It is designed for large-scale industrial powder processing. This integrated closed-circuit grinding system includes
1. Crushing Unit: Jaw Crusher to reduce raw material to <30mm.
2. Transport Unit: Bucket Elevator and Electromagnetic Vibrating Feeder for continuous, uniform feeding.
3. Grinding Unit: The YGM190 Main Mill (houses the grinding rollers and ring).
    ● Equipped with high-pressure springs, the raymond mill YGM190 exerts 1.2 times the grinding force of standard mills, allowing it to easily crush hard bottom ash.
●As the machine operates, blades feed material between the rotating rollers and the ring for pulverization.
●Finally, an internal airflow system transports the ground powder to a classifier, ensuring only fines meeting the required specifications pass through, while coarse particles are returned for regrinding.

4. Classification Unit: High-precision Analyzer/Classifier separates fine powder from coarse particles.
5. Collection Unit: Large Cyclone Powder Collector and Pulse Dust Collector (for finished product collection and air filtration).
6. Control Unit: PLC or Standard Electric Control Cabinet.

Key Benefits & Results Of Raymond Mill YGM190

1. High Grinding Pressure & Output
It has a large-diameter grinding ring. Combined with the high-pressure spring system, the YGM190 increases the grinding force of the rollers by 800-1200kg compared to standard mills. This allows it to easily crush the hard slag found in bottom ash, achieving larger outputs.

2. Extended Service Life (Wear Resistance)
Addressing the abrasiveness challenge, the shovel blades and grinding rollers were upgraded to High-Manganese Steel. This significantly extended the replacement cycle of wear parts, reducing downtime and maintenance costs for the client.

3. Superior Fineness Control
The variable-frequency analyzer allows the client to adjust the product fineness between 80 and 400 mesh. This flexibility allows them to produce different grades of powder for different buyers (e.g., brick makers vs. cement plants).

4. Eco-Friendly Operation
The YGM190 raymond mill system is equipped with a high-efficiency pulse dust collector, ensuring that exhaust emissions meet local environmental standards, keeping the factory clean.

What is the production capacity of the YGM190?

As a large-scale model, the YGM190 typically delivers 10–20 tons per hour. It offers 30% higher output than standard models, making it ideal for medium-to-large mineral plants or industrial bottom ash processing lines.

What materials can this mill process?

It is designed for non-flammable minerals with a Mohs hardness below 9.3 and moisture below 6%. It handles common stones (limestone, calcite) as well as tougher industrial waste like Bottom Ash effectively.

What is the output fineness range?

The output size is fully adjustable via the internal analyzer. You can produce powder ranging from 30 mesh (coarse) down to 425 mesh (ultra-fine) (0.613mm – 0.033mm) to suit different applications.

What is the advantage of the "High-Pressure" design?

The rollers are equipped with high-pressure springs that increase the crushing force by 1.2 times compared to ordinary mills. Combined with high-manganese steel wear parts, this ensures better efficiency on hard materials and a 20-30% longer service life.
